Acid staining is a process involving a chemical reaction on a cementitious material. The use of acid staining is often used to define borders or specific brick circles. Acid staining can also be used randomly on stone or slate pieces to break up a large area.

Never expect acid staining to be completely uniform or have an even tone, you will get different reactions from slab to slab, even on the same job you may see color variations.

Acid staining may be applied on existing concrete and with the use of a concrete saw, patterns may be cut into the slab and then stained to achieve an awesome finished product.

The acid is neutralized with a mixture of baking soda and water, it is then power-washed, allowed to dry, and finally, sealed.

Due to the chemistry involved, it is not recommenced that blue or green acid stains are used outdoors.
